Oh my goodness, what a great day! You may remember awhile back- April 2008- to be exact that Kraig and I met one of the House, M.D. writers at a surfing lesson.
You may also remember that the writer used one of my ideas for the show (the episode was Not Cancer sometime in the 6th season).
And the saga continues- Just before Christmas, I sent this writer (Larry Kaplow) a letter. Larry was really cool at the surfing lesson- you would never guess he had won Emmys and had a multi-million dollar contract with NBC. Anyways, I sent him a letter begging for an autographed House, MD coffee mug to display. I also let him know how cool it was to have seen the episode.
I never really expected to receive anything. I had sent the letter over a year later than the episode ran and I sent it just before Christmas when all of the shows are on hiatus.
Well folks, today my mom called me and said, "I got a package in the mail today for you. It is from NBC studios {pause} from a, um, Larry Kaplow?!?" I yelled, Open it! Open it! Even though I will be home in a few days I could not stand the suspense. She said that it was a pretty big box, and it was actually filled with tons of House stuff! including but not limited to: a signed script of the episode my idea was in, a travel coffee mug, and a t-shirt! I am so excited, and I can't wait to get home and see it! This is seriously better than Christmas because it was so unexpected! I want to send him a thank you note- is that weird?

Not at all. That's awesome. This writer seems like a stand up guy.
