Saturday night

I went to Kobey's swap meet this morning while Kraig was at work. I was hunting down the good deals. There were tons of booths but I am not the kind of person that really likes to look through a lot of junk trying to get to the "prize." So- it really wasn't the place for me. I did get a $5 scrub top and a snow cone though... however the ice was packed too hard in the snow cone and the syrup could barely penetrate it. I did not know that one could screw up flavored ice!!! Oh well, Kraig might go sometime because they have lots of tools for sale. My dad would also really like this place.
lLater, we had a fun Saturday night because we went bowling with Kraig's friend from work, Mateo. Before we went bowling, we stumbled upon a Souplantation! Remember- the soup and salad buffet-style restaurant from LA? so we went there... and it was excellent. i love that place. Then we went bowling. We stayed out pretty late even though I had to work in the morning, thank goodness for daylight savings time because it gave me an extra hour of much needed sleep!
Anyways, I just had to meet Mateo because I have heard so much about him. Mateo is an apprentice that Kraig works with out here. They get along really well and make work more bearable for each other.... but is this friendship something more? on any given day, I will hear... today mateo did this or mateo does that, mateo said this, mateo doesn't like that... Mateo, Mateo, Mateo! I think Kraig may have a man crush. I had heard so much about him and was really excited to meet him and excited to go bowling. I missed my bowling shoes back in MI though. Anyways, we had a really fun time, and also met Mateo's friend Anthony. He was cool, and may fight Kraig for Mateo's love. Anthony loves the Midwestern accent.. which is cool but I had to try and teach him that we do not sound like Canadians! Oh well... like I said, it was really fun and they were easy people to get along with. As you can see, Mateo is also a great dresser. I hope we can hang out again. Here are pictures of Kraig and Mateo... you can come to your own conclusions about the "bromance." be lenient alcohol was involved

I have been starting my Christmas list and starting one for Kraig. When is the Christmas dinner at your house? Also, in response to your lists- I actually have a bigger list which includes most of those.. I went to the Birch Aquarium a few years ago... and I would like to go to Legoland, but we will barely be able to make it to Sea World and the zoo, so that will have to be saved for another time. Kraig only has Sundays off... and they keep scheduling me for every Sunday despite my requests.. AND no one will switch with me, its kinda sucky

Birch Aquarium is actually pretty cool to check out. But if you wanna see marine life you're better off going to the Tide Pools.

(I'd go to Cabrillo, they also have a museum there with some pretty cool San Diego/California history)

legoland isnt really worth going to unless you're a lego fanatic or you have little kids. everything else is going to be kinda... yeah... if you go you'll see. But personally i wouldnt go there.

Balboa Park. But go durring the day. It's notorious for... well if you go at night you'll see. It's sketchy to say the least. Hm...

Hotel Del (Coronado) is really cool. it's a beautiful hotel really. but the rest of coronado island is basically a tourist trap and has a LOT of little shops to buy stuff you'd probably never really use. just stuff you'd tuck away somewhere in your house and forget where you got it. we all got that kind of stuff. i got this one thing with this lady wearing a green toga holding a book in one arm and a torch in another. not sure where i got that.

if you guys get the itch to go on a "drive" though you should hit the 101 along the coast. for you it'd probably be northbound. and just go as long as you get tired of driving north. but it only gets better. other than that...

San Diego Wild Animal Park > San Diego Zoo. only thing the zoo has on the wap is the pandas. and one time at the zoo i saw a rhino eat it's own shit. it was both funny and sad at the same time.

I gotta shower and get to bed. See one of ya' at work... next week. And both of ya' Tuesday. I recommend skipping breakfast. You'll see why. Trust me.
