Today we made our trek to St. Louis with Baxter and all of my belongings in tow- so many belongings in fact that the car was filled to the tippy top. Baxter made himself right at home though.
The drive was about 14 hours. I have gotten good at long car trips, but this one was a little excessive. Thank goodness both Kraig and I were in the same vehicle as we usually are driving both the car and the truck to our new destination. We did not stop to do any sightseeing because we wanted to completed the drive in one day. :(
Baxter did great on the car ride! He pretty much slept on a box in the back seat or on Kraig's shoulder while he was driving. Yes, i agree that is probably not the safest place but it kept him from meowing. So my sanity was grateful for that! Also, a few times during the trip, Baxter decided to "groom" Kraig. It was very strange, but cute! He would seriously lick Kraigs head and hair for 5 solid minutes! He is a weird cat.
We picked Kraig's truck up from the St. Louis airport and then drove to our new home.. the Suburban Extended Stay hotel. It was late by the time we got there- about midnight, so we did not have to hide Baxter when taking him into the hotel!
(Above) We did make a pit stop to Burger King to try a "cupcake shake."
It's nasty- just say no... unless you like drinking cake batter.. then say yes!
