Taste of Bethesda

Today I ventured out into the city of Bethesda. I walked around the area known as Woodmont Triangle where there are a ton of restaurants and shops. It is a really cute little area, and today was the "Taste of Bethesda Festival." I mainly went to check that out. I love to eat! All of the area's restaurants had booths that were selling "tastings" of food items from their menus for $1-$4. It was a very big event and there were thousands upon thousands of people there throughout the day. There were 4 streets lined with tents selling everything from Indian food to hot wings to cupckaes. I got to taste a few things and missed out on some others (I missed out on a cupcake because I did not have enough tickets left... btw, I hate paying with tickets). I tasted a Caesar taco from California Tortilla, a steak sandwich from Morton's, some buttered chicken curry and rice from Delhi Dahba, and some italian-seasoned french fries from the Nest Cafe. The food was all really good, and I was very full. In the end, my vote for best "taste" went to the Caesar taco. It was actually the cheapest food item I got too! So good things come in small packages. I also enjoyed the curry. I got it because it said "buttered chicken," and well I love butter. However, there was nothing buttery about it. It was chicken in a creamy red sauce over rice. It did not taste hot at first.. but the flavor and hotness built upon itself in your mouth. It was fun because I would usually not try something like this!
Oh yeah... I also got a free t-shirt from one of the radio stations! What an eventful day.
To David... maybe this is what the Taste of Heritage Square will be like in a few years... but without the food tickets hopefully!
