Venice Beach

It was 84 degrees today, and we went to Venice Beach! It was really cool and pretty there. It has a street right along the beach lined with shops and street vendors. I wanted to spend my bday money- but mostly the stores just sold t-shirts and bongs!!! So, I decided to save it for another day. There were a lot of street performers. There were a group of acrobats where one guy jumped over 11 people! There were also a lot of people playing music, telling fortunes, and painting pictures. It was really neat. I ended up buysing some aromatherapy bath salts that can go in our jacuzzi tub! Most of the venders looked like "rastafarian" people or hippies. There were also some scary clowns and lots of skateboarders riding around! We ate outside at a cafe and then had ice cream. We ate it while we sat out by the ocean and "toasted" to the ocean with our ice cream cones! I can't think of anything better than that. In the beginning when we got there, we walked along the ocean. I walked in the water and jumped over a few tiny waves. The water was so cold... but that does not scare away the surfers! There were so many there. My heroes! I love watching them. Anyways, it was a really neat place. It has a very laid-back, ocean-centered feeling about it. I am pretty sure that I could happily live there in my flip flops forever!
