DC Shamrockfest!

Today I went to Shamrockfest at RFK stadium in DC. I took the Metro in and had the pleasure of sitting next to a crazy lady that tried to get me to kiss her on the cheek and kept shouting out.. "I love caucasians!" It was rather comical, and usually that kind of stuff does not go on when riding the Metro. Why do the crazies always sit next to me?? Like I said though- she was harmless enough.. until she coughed on me and all I could think about was tuberculosis...
Well, so after the eventful commute, I met up with my friend Jamie (the other travel RN) to go into the concert. I also met her boyfriend, Will. The weather sucked- rainy, gloomy, wet, and cold- but it was really a lot of fun! I am sure that alcoholic-type beverages helped with that, but anyways.
There were a bunch of rock concerts going on, Irish food, Irish dancers, crafts, and games.
Jamie and her boyfriend paid for the VIP passes, and I didn't which made things difficult for awhile. This meant that they could go into one large area of the festival and I couldn't. The VIP pass was actually more economical in the long run- that was until Jamie's boyfriend, snuck you into the VIP area! I felt like such a rebel... and then I got free drinks.
The main band that we saw was The Roots. They were really good. It was fun to dress up in green with a bunch of other crazy people and pretend that we knew how to Irish dance!
