My mom is flying in to Baltimore today. I worked last night, so she has opted to take public trasnportation from the airport instead of waking me. I feel a little bad, but I also know it is an adventure for her! My mom and I share a deluded excitement about public transportation. We think that it sounds and is.. so much fun. I have decided that buses are not fun, but I am still a fan of the Metrorail ..aka..DC subway.
Anyways, my mom flew into the airport, got on a bus to the Green Line of the Metrorail, took that bus to the Red Line, made a switch and ended up in Silver Spring, MD. She did all of this with a suitcase and a little help from some fellow travelers. I think she did great, especially having never done it before. She now has a SmarTrip card too.
I picked her up at the Panera Bread in Silver Spring. We had dinner at the Macaroni Grill and went back to the apartment. She says that she has no desire to drive anywhere around here with all of the crazy people. I do not blame her. I have to break out my LA driving skills every so often- okay just about every day. Anways, she settled into the apartment and will be good company for Baxter.
Unfortunately, I have to go to work the next two nights, but then we will be able to start doing things.
