Disclaimer: even though I say how great fall is, I would still trade it for surfing in San Diego.
For the first two weeks or so that I was in Maryland it was about 80 degrees. Then one day, the weather just turned. You could feel it in the air. Everything got brisker, and a little darker. It was awesome! It actually energized me and got me excited about Christmas. I started looking around and noticing the beautiful fall colors that were starting to show. Maryland is a lot like Michigan. There are many trees and bushes everywhere, and many of them have changed colors. I feel like there is a lot more color variety here though, but maybe that's because I have mostly been seeing palm trees for the last two years. A lot of the trees in my area have turned bright yellow and bright red. It is very pretty.
I have been trying to take good pictures of all of the different colors but have not had much luck. Most of the great scenery I see is from the side of a highway, and well they frown on you stopping on the shoulder to take pictures of trees. (those giant windmills are another story)!
It has rained (poured) for the last three days without reprieve. However, it has really made the colors on the trees stand out- kind of like how a wet rock is much prettier than it is after it dries. I tried taking some pictures today, but am not sure how they turned out. I plan to go to a state park or something next weekend when I do not have to work. Hopefully, I will get some really good shots then!

Be sure to post them up and we'll compare. I'm convinced that our trees around here are a lot more dull in color. I've taken a picture of the trees on the banks of the St. Joe near Island Park in Niles. But... we haven't hit the peak yet. We still have green trees. Oh, and we had snow the other day. Yay! [/sarcasm]
you had snow? yuck... i did not know that, i guess I will stop complaining about the rain here!
