Later in the afternoon, Kraig and I visited the National Harbor. It is located on the Potomac River on the Maryland side. It has some shops and restaurants, and lots of condos. It is still in the process of being built up. The view across the Potomac is pretty, especially with the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in the background. We walked around the area and bought some unique ingredients at a fancy kitchen store. We did not end up staying that long and then headed back home. We ended up eating at Ruby Tuesdays in honor of Kraig's sister. She says that they have the best cream of broccoli soup. Kraig and I thought that Panera Bread held this title, so we had to check it out. Turns out, we agree with Sarah! The soup was great!

I am the pied piper of waterfowl
Today, I went across the street with my trusty stack of Saltine crackers to feed the ducks. There are four sets of babies- 2 sets of ducklings and 2 sets of goslings. I fed them and got some great pictures. At one point, I swear that all of the ducks on the pond were circled around me participating in the feeding frenzy! When I would try to walk away, one of the little babies would chase me- I would turn around to feed him and he would get scared and run back in the other direction. So cute :) but seriously, a bunch of the older ducks were following me along the sidewalk hoping for some cracker crumbs too. I felt like I was their leader. Too bad I can't fly or skim across the water on some webbed feet.

What is your apartment like, how far away from work are you & how was your 1st night shift Aunt Bette
our apartment building looks like a dorm from the outside and there is no pool- other than that it is really great on the inside. it reminds me of my apartment in downtown GR (except bigger and no runaway hamsters). it takes about 20 minutes to get to work and only 4 stoplights i think. my first few shifts have been really busy and the hospital is okay.. the charting is easy though- so thats a good thing.
