Well, I got back to Michigan very early on April 19. Kraig's mom, Sherri, and I drove straight through from Pensacola. The trip went pretty well until we got to Indiana where they are incapable of properly marking a detour! Anyways, I had fun in Pensacola- it is beautiful there. On the way home we also ate at Cracker Barrel. I love their hashbrown casserole. While at home, I checked out my brand new kitchen and Kraig and I tried to fit in visits with as many people as we could.
My new kitchen is awesome! Kraig did such a great job. It looks great. We had both picked out the cabinets which ended up looking great with my wall color. I love that bright green! kraig picked out the tile- and it looks really, really nice in the kitchen. I love the room so much and am now so happy that he remodeled it while I was in Florida. While I was home, we ordered a countertop from Lowes.
On Sunday, we mooched dinner off of Sarah and Rusty. Good job for asking us to stay for dinner, kids! We got to see Alexis, Zachary, and Adam and played a little with them too. On Monday, we went to the Four Winds casino with my aunt and grandma. The buffet was great, as usual. The gambling was not so great though! On Tuesady, I visited Erin's new son, Noah! He is about 3 weeks old and very cute. Since he was sleeping, I thought it was safe to hold him! After that, I went out to dinner with my friend Jason (Foz) from arthritis camp. We had a good time and it was nice to hang out with him outside of camp!
On Wednesday, Kraig and I hung out at the farm. Kraig helped his dad "care" for the cows. Later, my in-laws, Sarah and Rusty, came over with their kids. While Kraig was helping Sarah make something for Zachary's school project, I entertained the kids (while drinking wine). I must say that it is the best way to babysit! Ha! We spent our time taking pictures on the farm, as you can see above. They have super-model potential dont you think?
That night, I went to see the movie, Earth with Val, Adam, and David. It was pretty good and nice to go out with friends. I love the cheap tickets at the Wonderland! I wonder how much movie tickets will cost in maryland, hmmmm.

We started out for Maryland on Thursday afternoon. It was toll roads all the way, but at least it went fast! We spent the night in Bedford, PA. The best part was the we got a free breakfast buffet at the hotel where we stayed! On Friday, I got my nurse's license in Baltimore. Then we drove down to where we will be living in Waldorf, MD. It is about 30 miles south of Washington DC. Today I went to orientation at my hospital. It is actually really nice, and my floor is newly remodeled! Our apartment is pretty nice except for the fact that it looks like a dorm on the outside. The inside is pretty nice and its bay window reminds me of my apartment in downtown Grand Rapids! It has been extremely warm- 90 degrees since we got here. Unfortunately our apartment complex does not have a pool! We did see the Chesapeake Bay. It was really pretty, and we want to go back and get closer. The park that we tried to go to had been closed due to vandalism. Other than that it is really pretty out here- there are lots of trees in the Mary-land.

The last time I at the Cracker Barrel was when we had a mini-family reunion. I told my Dad that I didn't like the place because they had racial discrimination issues. He laughed it off. We get there and we waited--I kid you not--30 minutes before we were served. All the other white folks that were seated around us and that were seated after us had already gotten their orders taken. My Grandma asked out what was taking them so long and I said it was because I wasn't white. They laughed at me. :( Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't but I'm never going there again.
Great picture of little Noah. Pardon me while I steal a copy...
How does it feel to live under a couple dozen nuclear missiles?
