Pensacola

Pensacola Beach

Well- I made it to Pensacola. I spent yesterday packing. Kara and Ryan helped me pack up my car- thank goodness for them! Oh yah- I also found out that Kara went to Camp Mack too! That is where my arthritis camp is! It just gets weirder and weirder. I will really miss them- they are the first friends that I have ever made on assignment! Anyways, after packing up the car, we ate dinner at KFC. I spent today driving and eating the leftover fried chicken. Now, I am in Pensacola at Kevin's house hanging out and drinking wine. Before the sun went down, we went to Pensacola Beach to see it during the daylight. Last time I was here it was nighttime so I got to see more of it while I was here this time. I stuck my toes in the water and in the sand. Even here there was a red flag warning- so surfing while in FL just was not meant to be. It is really pretty here though. We also drove around and looked at the great beach houses. After the beach, we went to The Other Side which is a bar. I hoped to get to experience bingo read off by a drag queen! Unfortunately we were a few minutes too late. We still had drinks and watched the people. I had fun. Then we went to Whataburger. It seems to be the Florida version of In-n-Out Burger. It was good, but I will stick with the McDonalds $1 menu. No matter, it was definitely a Florida experience. I started my Florida time out in Pensacola and I am ending it here. I only hope to get out alive tomorrow and away from these drivers! Tomorrow I am on to Michigan. I swear that if it snows while I am at home- I will throw a temper tantrum! I am excited to go home and see my new kitchen and spend a little time at home with friends and family. Be home soon!

You kind of remind me of my dad. When he was stationed in Minnesota, he would make trips back to Michigan by picking up a bucket of KFC when he left and he would eat through it it on the trip.

Eating greasy chicken with bones strikes me as 100 times more dangerous than driving with, say, a sack of White Castles.

Have a great and safe trip back. I don't see snow in the immediate forecast so I think you're safe. But you know... it is Michigan your are heading to. :-P

i would have to agree with you- i think that eating fried chicken while driving is probably the most dangerous food! anyways, hope to see you when we are home.
