the best day of surfing yet...

Oh yeah... I am the best surfer EVER...

Today was such a great day of surfing!!! the best yet!! Kraig and I surfed for about 3 hours and got some pictures of our mad skills. :) We had such a good time surfing together. Both of us are getting much better. I am getting really consistent on the small waves, I think I got up at least 20 times and Kraig did also. It was so great! however, it is definitely getting colder. Once you are in the water and paddling around though, it warms you right up. the wetsuits help too! Kraig likes to go out into the deeper water to catch the waves... so I am working on that now. We are both trying to catch the waves before they break.. but that also leads to flipping and being spun around in the wave. No matter, with every wipe-out we both resurface with giant smiles on our faces. Matt at the surfboard rental shop gave me some tips on catching those kind of waves. All in all, I just have to get up on the board faster (meaning get stronger) so that I do not flip. However, I think with enough practice, I will figure out my own way around that and still be successful- just like I have done in the past!!

It was so much fun, and I love spending time with him. Like I said, we both had some great rides. Kraig had not eaten all day and wanted to leave.. but I kept saying, just one more pleaseeee, and then after that one.. okay Kraig, I promise, last time, last one. Surfing is in my blood! I can't get enough of it. Anyways, when I finally did get out I learned a brand new way to exit the water. I caught a pretty fast wave right into the shore but I stayed laying on my board. The board hit the beach and abruptly stopped and the wave still pushed me forward leaving my board behind. I then bodysurfed onto the beach. It was great, minus the sand caked underneath my wetsuit! We rounded up the night by visiting this cool mall right in the middle of downtown San Diego and ate some Panda Express...

Stay tuned for more surfing pictures once the water camera is developed!
