surfing in the kelp

I went surfing again today. I rented a board and a wetsuit from this rental shop (of course I had a coupon). I tried surfing again at Mission Beach. I stood up and rode the wave about 6 times! and the other 30 times I crashed into the sand and got whirled around by the wave. I loved every single minute of it! Today there was a lot of kelp getting washed up on the shore, and I swear no matter where I went and tried to surf (between lifeguard stations 18 and 19)- that dang kelp followed me. At one point, I fell off the board right into it. Then, the ocean decided that at least 5 pounds should get wrapped around my surfboard leash. So, I had to carry the board out of the water, while dragging the kelp behind me. I had to sit on the beach and untangle it all! Then later, I landed in the kelp and about got swallowed up by it. I was like swamp thing, just in the ocean instead of the swamp and covered in kelp instead of moss. If only I had a picture! Anyways, it was a good day of being one with the ocean! No wild dolphins today though.
When I returned my gear, I asked the guy in the shop when you can actually call yourself a "surfer." He said... once you can stand up on the board and you become addicted. So he said that I could call myself a surfer! I told him that I could die happy knowing that! :)
Later that day, once Kraig got home, we tried to go to the infamous In and Out Burger- a fast food place out here that I have been told can't be missed. I guess, you can't truly call yourself a "local" unless you go there! So, we tried to eat there before going to the movies; however, the drive-through had at least 20 cars in it, and the inside was no better. So, we had to go to Taco Bell to get to the movie on time. However, we will make it there- I guess we just have to go at an off time.
Kraig and I saw Eagle Eye. I loved it.. I love a good chase movie. Kraig really did not like it. Also, if you are keeping track.. movies cost $10.50/person in San Diego...
Tomorrow, I work my first day shift on my own. I am nervous... so keep your fingers crossed for me. Also, happy birthday to Zachary on Saturday!
