Great Reno Balloon Race

Also on September 7, we went to the Great Reno Balloon race and learned a few things about "hot air ballooning." First off, hot air balloons fly in the morning because the air is lighter and there is less air traffic. Also, hot air balloons do not have sandbags but gas air balloons do. Anyways, it was really cool to see all of the different shaped balloons. Some of the shapes were: bees, Smokey the bear, the Energizer bunny, and an eagle. We went to the festival early in the morning around 6:30am (along with the other 50,000 people). We ate corn dogs and got to watch the balloons get blown up. It was really cool, and I did not realize how big they really are. All in all, there were about 60 balloons flying over Reno. It was a pretty sight to see and a good way to start our day.

I'm glad you got to see a hot air balloon lift off, since bad weather stop you from seeing the Battle Creek one Aunt B
