The Space Needle

Yesterday we went to the Space Needle. We thought it was very "Seattley," and so it should be one of the first things we went to see! The Space Needle is actually about 2 blocks away from our apartment building and we could see our apartment from the top! The space Needle was actually built as a showcase piece for the World's Fair back in the day. Seattle wanted to focus on new technologies to bring their city into the future, and that's why they won the rights to the World's Fair that year. Bill Gates lives in Seattle so their plan must have worked. Anyways, we ate in the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle. The restaurant actually spins so that you get a 360 degree view of Seattle and Puget Sound. That was the best part. Then we went out on the observation deck and looked through the telescopes. we saw a lot of different fountains which are around the Space Needle, and we plan on walking around those in the future. Seattle seems very artsy. There is a lot of modern art and different art installations all over. It is pretty cool, and has a different feel to it than CA. A few days ago we also went to the Pike Place Market. It is where that famous fish place is where they throw the fish and let you catch it. My goal is to get to catch one of those fish someday! The marketplace is really neat. There are crafts, flowers, and food. It is also really close to our apartment, and it is just kind of fun to walk through!
Kraig started work today as a welder in a shop, and it went well. Unfortunately, they did not have an open position in the building next to ours where there is a lot of construction going on. Tomorrow night is my first night on the nursing floor- so hopefully it will go well too!

There is so much art, you can't hardly go a couple blocks without seeing something. I loved all the totem pole. My wild & weird list is in the mail.

it does not rain like back home . here its like a light mist that last for 30sec. or less. and they say win it rains it has to rain for one hour in order to count as rain.

how often does the space needle go up and down?

they are elevators that take you to the top of the space needle and these elevators probably go up and down every 10 minutes or so!
