This is the hospital that I work at. For the most part, I like it.Pros: it's beautiful-it looks like a resort, work on a brand new floor, high pay rate, discount in cafeteria, smaller patient load, saline flushes spray out to the side instead of just straight up, pre-drawn flushes, fewer pharmacy errors, fewer gtts, everyone is helpful, better med reconciliation, photos taken of wounds to document wound care, have residents/house staff, good gift shop, tube system, pitchers of water in room, swipe card to get into staff rooms instead of a combination
Cons: pagers don't show tele rhythm, to far to walk to nourishment room, the needless system they use, M-Sun schedule, no task list on computer program, paper Mars we have to verify every night, no overtime after 0700, floor is too big- too far to walk between stations, fewer places to write coments in computer system, it takes me twice as long to drive 15 miles to work as it did to drive 30 miles to work, having to count Protonix in Pyxis, co-signing insulin, no internet, end caps on IVs that you have to screw stuff into, no cholraprep for PICCs, less food to choose from at night... That's what I thought about last night.
