My aunt and grandma were in Chicago yesterday so they drove down to see us today. We had a really great time! We started out by going to Delmar Blvd in St. Louis. It is a cute little college town type of a street with a bunch of restaurants and stores, but mostly restaurants. There is even a restaurant there that features mac and cheese called "Cheese-ology." We did not go there though. Instead, we went to the famous Blueberry Hill restaurant. It is a huge bar and restaurant that has had many famous people and musicians visit it over the years. The inside is covered with 1950s memerobilia, cartoon characters, neon, and dead moose heads. I guess that would make it pretty eclectic. We went there so that I could introduce everyone to a St. Louis delicacy- "T-ravs." My friend Heather introduced me to them, and I have since found frozen ones at Walmart- but I thought that they deserved the real thing. They are toasted raviolis and are served with marinara sauce for dipping, kid of like mozzarella sticks. They are excellent and were a hit with the family.

After dinner, we went to this park that I have been wanting to go to since I got here. I knew that if my aunt saw it that she would want to go there too, as it is something unusual and is a good place for taking pictures. :) So, on the way to the restaurant, I made sure to point it out!
The Turtle Playground was a lot of fun. There were 7 statues of turtles, one newt, and one snake, all of which you can climb on. It was so much fun. Some of the turtles even had names! This one is Emily.
After we had our fill of the turtles, we went to another St. Louis legend/Route 66 landmark- Ted Drewes. It is an ice cream place. They have things called "concretes" which are like DQ blizzards. I recommend the "Tedad concrete" which is vanilla ice cream and oatmeal cookies. I don't even really like oatmeal cookies, but I love this ice cream treat!
Afterwards, we went back to their hotel room to visit a little bit longer and look at pictures from my aunt's last vacation. She went to the Pacific Northwest and on an Alaskan cruise. The pictures really made us miss Seattle and definitely made me want to go to Alaska!
