peds clinic

Since I am going to be the official camp nurse this summer, I figured that I should probably get some experience with pediatric rheumatology patients. I met with Renee (the other camp nurse), and together, we went to the University of Chicago's clinic day in Merrillville, IN.
It was a lot of fun. All I did was follow Renee and the rheumatologist around. I got to see what they did in the clinic, ask the doctor questions, and get an idea of what the doctor watches for with these kids related to their diseases.
I was also there to recruit for camp! I tried to work some magic and talk 3 girls into coming to camp. Hopefully my efforts will pay off: I think they would gain a lot from coming to camp. Like I said, I really enjoyed being at the clinic. Maybe I will eventually have to say goodbye to hospital nursing and my crotchety little old men! I do know for sure that I want to be more involved with camp recruiting and camper retention, so I hope to go to another clinic day in May.
