Today marks the return of Mystery Mondays!!! Kraig is so excited. For the first few months of our marriage, I would try out a new recipe each week and make it for dinner for Kraig. I would do it every Monday... thus it became Mystery Monday. Since then... I have not done too much cooking or trying out of new recipes...
One of my goals of this move was to bring this concept back. So, today I cooked two new recipes- mashed potatoes with roasted onions and beef steaks coated in breadcrumbs. It turned out pretty well (even though it looked nothing like the picture in the cookbook), and I am happy to say that Mystery Monday was a hit! The most exciting thing was that this is the first time I have ever made acceptable mashed potatoes. I was so proud: no more instant ones for us!!!
A new edition to my cooking experiment is "Famous Fridays." Every Friday, I will make something that I have made in the past (perhaps from a Mystery Monday) that turned out well. I will try to tweak the recipe and cook it to perfection!!! I already started this a few days ago when I cooked my lasagna- and well, it was perfect (but lasagna is my specialty).

I thought you were going to say that you played "mystery can", where you tear the labels off of cans of food, put them on a lazy susan, and give it a spin. Which ever can you grab, you have to eat what's inside!
ewwwww... can you imagine what kind of horrible things kraig could find that come in a can?!?
