Since I do not have a job yet :( I headed home to get some things done. On Friday, I went to some doctor's appointments. I swear that is all I do when I go home! After the doctor, my mom and I went for a walk and then we headed over to Mishawaka. We went to Logan's Roadhouse for their 2 for $13 deal. We both like to go and eat there because we like the food, and it is a good deal!
I went back over to my parents house, and we watched movies from the RedBox. I love Redbox! My mom has also talked me into going through all of my old school stuff- stuff that we have kept in boxes from as far back as kindergarten! It was kind of fun going through the stuff. Most of it got thrown away: I mostly kept report cards, pictures, and stories which I had written.
On Saturday morning, I had new tires put on my car. They were long overdue. I could not find a quote for the tires in southern Illinois that Kraig liked, so I decided to get them back at home. A person I graduated from high school with opened up an auto repair shop, so I figured I might as well support him and give him my money!
In the evening, my mom and I went to an old friend of mine's wedding. My friend Jenny (we swam on the swim team for the YMCA and in high school) married Dan Ulrich (I went to school with him too) in South Bend, IN. Getting ready for the wedding was difficult because everything I had planned to wear did not work out. I had an allergic reaction in the last week that has left red bumps all over my ankles, arms, neck, and chest. I wanted to cover all of this up, but had a limited selection in my closet at home. Also, when I did find a cover-up to wear, I eventually realized that Baxter had eaten a hole in the back of it. So, I had to run to wal-mart to see if they had anything. They really didn't have too much, but I did buy a sweater for $5 that I wore to the wedding. I had to wear pants because I didn't have any skirts at home... and then the hem of the pants fell out an hour before the wedding. My mom had to tape it for me!
The wedding was really nice, and the food was quite good. Jenny's main color was purple, so I liked that! It was really fun to see Jenny, her parents, and her brothers. When we were all in high school, we spent a lot of time together. They are really nice people, and her brothers are just the way I remember them. Kraig had to work, so my mom went to the wedding with me. It was fun because she knew Jenny's family from swimming too. Jenny and I had lost touch when we went away to college. I was happy to get an invitation to the wedding because I am hoping that attending her wedding will be a start to hanging out again!
On Sunday, my mom, dad, and I went to St. Joseph, MI. My dad and I walked out onto the pier to have a view of the lake. It was a pretty day, and there were people kite surfing. I want to learn to do that: it looks great! It was really cold though, so we did not stay long. Afterwards, we checked out the new carousel that the city built along the beach. Then, my mom and I walked around town and looked in the shops. I always like being in St. Joe because I love knowing that I am so close to the water! My dad plans on winning $200 million in the lottery later this week and says that he will definitely be buying a house right on the lake. I hope he does! I will for sure move back to Michigan then!
After shopping, we ate lunch at Schus, a restaurant overlooking the water. We were seated at the best table in the restaurant. It was in the corner and elevated so that it had a better view of the lake than any of the other tables. We really felt like we were "somebody important." Our meals were alright, but the soups that my dad and I had were excellent!
We spent the rest of the day driving around to see the new professional golf course that is being built in Benton Harbor. We did this for a long time because my dad was taking tons of pictures. The golf course was designed by Jack Nicklaus- so it is a pretty big deal. We ended the evening with some Dairy Queen, and I went home to my last night in my bed. Oh, how I love my bed! I had a really great weekend, and it was fun spending so much time with my parents.
