Okay more like a movie.. and then dinner- but I digress.
Today we went to see Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. We enjoyed the first one so we had to see this next installment. The movie was great, but seeing this type of movie (action/thriller) in Waldorf, MD was a whole new experience all its own. It wasn't just a movie-going experienc, it was also a cultural experience. We had the show on the moviescreen and a whole different kind of show going on around us. The audience participation was at a whole new level. From the screaming, to the clapping at key points in the movie... to the oh noo! dont go in there and the no! optimus no!- i think this is the way movies were meant to be watched, but rarely are in Southwest Michigan. It was funny and strange, very strange.
Also, I debuted my new oversized purse bag. I purchased this for the sole purpose of sneaking food into the theatre. Let's just say it was a success. I will make a great old lady. We had pops, candy, and popcorn! Ha! Oh btw, did you know that people in Michigan and Indiana are like the only states that call it "pop?" Hmm.. I have tried to spread the knowledge through my travels, but people just aren't catching on.
In the evening, we went to eat at The Greene Turtle bar and grill in La Plata. It was really good and cute because of all of the turtle references. We also tried out "Maryland-flavored" hot wings. They are flavored with crab dip seasoning, and were pretty tasty.
