We stopped at Mima Mounds National Preserve on the way to Mt. St. Helens. Theories to their occurrence range from earthquakes to glaciers to giant gophers!

There she is.. in all of her glory. The volcano erupted for 9 hours in May, 1980 after a 5.2 earthquake roared beneath it.
