ferry trips and Starbucks

Yesterday my mom went up the Space Needle.. once the sky finally cleared up. She said that it was so windy up there that she had to hold on to her pants!

Enjoying the first-ever Starbucks together. Isn't it beautiful?

Today my mom and I rode the ferry to Bainbridge Island. It is a 35 minute trip across Elliot Bay. We had fun there rummaging through the shops. We went to a candy store that makes their own fudge. The owner actually perfected making root beer float flavored fudge! It was really good! We ate at a diner, looked at arts and crafts, jewelry, and a bead store. When we went to get back on the ferry, I had the departure time wrong and we missed the ride back by 10 minutes.. so we had to sit around in the ferry terminal for another 50 minutes! Oh well...

Later that day we saw the Sleepless in Seattle houseboat and showed her where each of us works. My mom also said that she has always wanted to go to Costco.. so we found one and took here there. After finally making it there, on our way into the store, she said "you know I do not think this is the place that I was thinking of, i think it's SteinMart." Oh well... We ended the night by going to the first Starbucks which is located in Pike Place Market.

I find the original Starbucks label to be disturbing. Not because of the breasts but because it looks like a mermaid who is tearing herself in half.
