The Tonight Show

Today we sat in the audience of the Tonight show with Jay Leno- and right now I am re-watching it on television! (because I didn't get some of the jokes the first time)! The studio is right down the road (in walking distance).
We had the best time! It was so, so much fun. Jay Leno came out and talked to the audience before the show, took pictures with people, and told jokes. He seemed really cool and laid back and so nice. He initiated a lot of waving and talking to different people. Not us though- because we had some of THE worst seats in the theatre! We just ended up at a bad place in the line and got stuck in a corner. I could not even see the applause sign! Our seats were right above the band. On television, I saw where we were sitting-I think I saw our silhouettes- but you cannot actually see us. Anyways, on the show were "Audience Freaks of Nature" (no I was not one of them), Ryan Phillipe, Lisa Lampenelli (a comedian), and a bluegrass musician- Jim Lauderdale. The guests were so funny!
I thought it was kind of weird to see actual celebrities just walking around like "normal people." From where I was sitting, I could see Ryan Phillipe before he came out on stage and he was just laughing at the jokes like everyone else- kraig tells me- "stacey, they are just regular old people, I don't see it like you." Okay people. - I know that they are otherwise normal people- but I compare it to- remember when we were in school and all of a sudden you would go grocery shopping or out to eat and you would see one of your teachers? It was always so weird... like what, they actually do other things- they just didn't seem to belong... I think that was what getting to see Jay and the others was like. I mean, I know some of you guys know what I mean about the teacher thing- Kraig didn't, but that's probably just because he went to Galien!
Anyways, it was cool to be in the audience because we got to hear everything that gets bleeped out when the show airs! The comedian that was on was really funny in an awful way- and got bleeped out a lot- she had the kind of jokes that you know you shouldn't laugh at, but you just can't help it. I felt bad for Ryan Phillipe who was sitting by her. He actually turned red a couple of times!
It was really cool to watch the show. We had so much fun and would definitely do it again someday (plus it was free, amen to that yo)!

I just updated myself on your blog. It sounds like you're having fun even if you have to fit work into your schedule.

Love you both, MOM
