on the road

I am writing to you from the Best Western in Lincoln, NE. Kraig and I have become a nice little caravan on our way to CA. We were going to tow my car but recently found out it would be cheaper to drive two cars and stay an extra night in a hotel rather than rent a U-Haul trailer for my car! Now, to anyone else, I would say.. you cant put a price on the ozone- but I am feeling hypocritical and cheap. So today we went to the IKEA store in Bolingbrook, IL to take back a mirror we bought a few months ago (BTW Amanda, IKEA is a great and wonderful place, I wish I could live in the building). Then we drove and ate some chicken nuggets at the McDolnalds in Colfax, IA. Next I accidentally turned off of interstate 80 somewhere in IA and it took me an hour and a half to catch back up to Kraig. Now we are in Lincoln, NE ringing in the New Year. To celebrate we are eating some Subway and drinking $8 wine while wearing New Year's hats. Woohoo. However, I forgot that wine has something called a cork in it and we do not have a corkscrew in the hotel room! So Kraig, used his head and poked a hole in the wine! Yay for 2008. I hope everyone is well. I was really sd to leave home this morning.. and my family, but I have always wanted to live in CA... and now I will get to! Side note to Amanda: otters rule, you are the best teacher in the world, and my new apt is in Burbank, CA.. there is an IKEA there. Anyways, Kraig says hi to everyone too. Once I figure out how to put pictures in.. I will!
